Shardmind Utilities

Shard Minds… Beings of pure thought enrgy, given form and life by the destruction of the Living Gate. These beings are alien in nature, from their crystaline appearance, to their distant gaze and lack of emotional response, and struggle to fit into a world where the common races have banded together for protection.

Many shardminds are outcasts, viewed as the unintelligent constructs of mad mages, wandering golems that have broken free from their maters spells of control and binding. Their lack of social grace and somewhat blazen use of telephthy to infiltrate the minds of those around them to communuicate can quickly see them chased out of towns and villages unless they have a party of friends to help explain things for them.

Shard Minds are an uncommon sight amongst the foothills of the Nentir Vale, though, they are not unheard of. Much like the Wilden that have sprung up and broken free from the roots that bound them to their ancestal trees, Shard Minds are often awakened by dwarven minors, digging too deep and rupturing the borders of this world with the others. Where the influence of the FarRealm infiltrates the Shadowfell and the Feywild, causing maddness and disease, the crystals and gems can be given life, binding together to form these incredible beings, who fight back against the creeping abhorance that emerges.

Target: One creature in the burst
Trigger: You roll initiative
Effect: Make a monster knowledge check with a +5 bonus if the creatures keyword is Abherent. If you succeed in the check, you and allies in the burst gain a +2 power bonus to damage rolls against the creature until the end of your next turn.

Co-ordinated Minds * Racial Utility 6
“You can command the minds and hearts of your allies, compelling them to fight towards your goal.”

Free Action * Close Burst 5
Trigger: You roll initiative
Effect: You and allies in the burst gain a +5 bonus to inititiave if there are any creatures with the Abherent keyword in the burst. Until the end of the first round, you and your allies have Combat Advantage against any creatures with the Abherent keyword.

Fight the Madness * Racial Utility 10
“You engage the mind of the monster infront of you, compelling it to fight you, while your allies destroy its abherent form.”
Daily * Psionic
Minor Action * Close Burst 5
Target: One creature with the Abherent keyword in burst
Effect: The creature is marked by you until the end of your next turn. While marked, the creatures takes a -2 to all attack rolls that do not include you as a target, and allies within the burst gain a a +2 power bonus to attack rolls and a +5 power bonus to damage rolls against the target.
